PPE User Checks For Industry
For all users of working at height Personal Protective Equipment, including rope access technicians, tower and mast climbers, roof workers, riggers, arborists and emergency services.
Who is this course for?
All users of working at height Personal Protective Equipment, including rope access technicians, tower and mast climbers, roof workers, riggers, arborists and emergency services.
People issued with Personal Protective Equipment for work at height (collectively called Personal Fall Protection Equipment) must, under UK regulations, know how to carry out pre-use inspections to ensure its safe condition before use.
We have designed this course to give the appropriate background information on legislation and equipment performance as well as passing on the skills necessary to carry out suitable inspections.
Topics are covered using a combination of hands-on product checking training and classroom presentations.
At the end of the course, following successful completion of a formal assessment, you should be able to undertake your own pre-use checks. You should also be able to identify damage and/or defects that would necessitate an item being taken out of service and passed to a ‘competent’ person for thorough examination.
Prerequisites
Ideally to be familiar with the operation and use of Personal Protective equipment for work at height. The minimum age of candidates is 18 years.
