Personnel with experience of rope rescue/access systems who are required to use the Larkin Rescue Frame for lowering and raising live loads.
This course will provide rope rescue operators with the skills and knowledge to enable safe and efficient use of the Larkin Rescue Frame and associated components for lowering and raising personnel in a number of situations. Delegates will receive a broad understanding of the appropriate uses and limitations of the rescue frame when used in both full and half size configurations.
A 50% reduction in course fees will be applied if purchasing training in combination with this product.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of two line working for rope rescue/access. Medically fit and healthy.
The minimum age of candidates is 18 years

Course Content
This is a largely practical course covering:
- Introduction to the Larkin Rescue Frame
- Specific information on application and function of the Larkin Rescue Frame including compatibility with anchors, ropes, lanyards and connectors
- Care, maintenance, inspection and disposal of Personal Fall Protection Equipment
- Specific inspection requirements for the Larkin Rescue Frame
- Limitations and trouble shooting
Practical session
- Pre-use checks for the Larkin Rescue Frame Anchor selection and rigging
- Assembly of the Larkin Rescue Frame Rigging for lowering and raising
- Pre-setting the tilt angle
- Checks before lowering
- Tilting the frame
- Use of the Larkin Rescue Frame for lowering
- Use of the Larkin Rescue Frame for raising Casualty recovery
- Disassembly and stowage
Assessment
The course assessment is by short written test and continuous practical assessment by Lyon staff.
Certification
A certificate of attendance and test and ID card record of training will be issued to successful candidates. Certificate valid for three years from date of assessment.
