Emergency Services Rope Rescue Supervisors who are required to deliver theoretical and practical Rope Rescue Operator training to colleagues within their organisation.
The course will provide the skills and knowledge necessary to enable experienced and competent Rope Rescue Supervisors to deliver Rope Rescue Operator training to other personnel within their organisation.
The course includes methods of training delivery and assessment for both theoretical and practical sessions.
Student to instructor ratio will not exceed 4:1.
Prerequisites
Personnel applying for this course should have considerable knowledge, experience and competence in work at height and rope rescue to Supervisor level.
Ideally course applicants will have completed both the Lyon Rope Rescue Operator course (or equivalent) and the Lyon 5 day Rope Rescue Supervisor course.
Note: Members of Mountain and Cave Rescue Teams holding full ‘Operational’ status may be eligible for direct access to the course. Confirmation of this status will be required.
Due to the nature of the training candidates should confirm that they are medically fit and healthy prior to attending the course.
The minimum age of candidates is 18 years.

Course Content
The course includes both theoretical and practical training, with the practical sessions taking place in our dedicated training facility at Tebay.
Each course will cover:

- Creation and use of lesson plans

- Giving feedback and identifying further training needs
- Trainee records and certificates
Assessment
The course assessment is by short written test and by observed delivery of practical and theoretical rope rescue training sessions.
