This course will enable qualified Police Firearms Rope Access Operators to further develop their skills in order to fulfil the role of Dispatcher.

The course will include advanced rigging techniques, rescue capability, hauling and lowering and considerations for safe working in the operational environment. Supervision of Operators and other personnel working at height is a key component of this course.


Police Officer Work At Height Training Course

Prerequisites

This course is for Police Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs) currently qualified at the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum (NPFTC) E3.2 Operator level.
Medically fit and healthy (if unsure please contact us)
The minimum age of candidates is 18 years

Course Content

Completion of this course will enable the successful candidate to demonstrate they have achieved the Learning Outcomes and Performance Criteria stipulated by NPFTC Unit of Learning E3.3.

This course includes advanced rigging techniques, rescue planning and methodology, hauling and lowering and considerations for working within safe systems in operational environments. Supervision of Operators and other personnel working at height combined with problem solving are key components of this course.

Assessment

The course assessment is by short written test and practical assessment by Lyon staff. The course will include scenario-based assessments under simulated operational conditions.

Certification

A certificate of attendance and test and ID card record of training will be issued to successful candidates.
Certificate valid for three years from date of assessment.
