This short training course covers the use of the Petzl Jag Rescue Kit to pick off and lower a victim requiring rapid intervention. Suitable for industrial use and structures such as high ropes courses*.

We will provide you with a broad understanding of the uses and limitations of the equipment and the working techniques involved. During the course you will be taught to use the rescue equipment in a strictly controlled manner, always under the supervision of your trainer. Once the basics are covered, your training will progress onto realistic scenario-based ‘incidents’ within our purpose built training area.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of work at height *
Medically fit and healthy (If unsure, please contact us) The minimum age of candidates is 18 years

Course Content

This is a largely practical course covering:

  • Relevant legislation and the need for a rescue plan Sequence of events for rescue
  • The rescue kit and its component parts
  • Pre use checks
  • Using the rescue kit to perform pick off rescues Rescue and suspension intolerance considerations

Assessment

The course assessment is by short written test and continuous practical assessment by Lyon staff.

Certification

A certificate of attendance and test and ID card record of training will be issued to successful candidates. Certificate valid for three years from date of assessment.

* Notes:
1. This course can be run in conjunction with the one day Work at Height course (course code LT10). 2. Where a wider rescue capability is required, you may wish to consider the 2 day Co-worker
