Work At Height
Duration - 1 Day :: Course Cost - £180 plus VAT
This RoSPA approved course is for anyone who is seeking training for work at height using fall arrest, work restraint and work positioning systems.
The course places a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of work at height and is centred on the correct use of ‘twin-tail’ fall arrest lanyards and adjustable work positioning lanyards. Candidates are shown how to select appropriate anchors, correctly attach and climb safely with fall arrest lanyards and to use work positioning lanyards to allow ‘hands-free’ working.
Also covered is the use of flexible line and fixed-rail fall arrest systems plus the use of mobile horizontal lifelines. Fall-factors, potential misuse and limitations of equipment are discussed and a rescue demonstration provided. Suspension intolerance (formerly known as suspension trauma) is also discussed, including ways to prevent the onset of the condition and actions to be taken in the event of a fall into suspension by a worker.
The course also includes theory sessions to provide candidates with an introduction to and understanding of workplace regulations, risk assessments, equipment inspection, systems of work and the importance of correct selection, fitting and use of work at height equipment.
Following assessment, successful candidates will receive a Lyon Equipment certificate and an ID card record of training, valid for three years.
